US shutdown: Capitol's Twitter account becomes first victim

The US Capitol would remain closed till further notice.

One of the first casualties of the US government shutdown was the official Twitter account of the US Capitol.

In a clearly worded tweet, the US Capitol wrote:

An earlier tweet spoke about the Capitol visitor Center being closed.

This effectively means that all tours would be suspended and that the Centre would remain closed till further notice.

Earlier, Barack Obama, had tweeted that a group of extremists in the House was just hours away from shutting down the government.

A few tweets from Obama's official twitter ID had tried to gather support on Twitter and had tweeted about the funding for the Obamacare Act over which the shutdown has been brought about.

He wrote:
