IRVING, Texas (AP) - Between Tony Romo's mistakes, a defensive letdown, a breakdown on special teams, the Dallas Cowboys could have come away from their last-minute loss to the Jets thinking, "Here we go again."

Fans sure did. Coach Jason Garrett did not.

In the locker room after the game, he told players they played hard and well, and if they keep playing that way, good things will happen. He said the same thing to reporters a few minutes later, then again on Monday, after he'd watched the game again.

His players believe him. Despite opening this season with many of the same mistakes that set last season on the wrong course, they insist things will be different this time.

The Cowboys play at San Francisco this weekend.
