| I was gluten free for several months, and I have to say it really did seem to work quite well for me. Maintaining a healthy weight and even losing some weight as needed seemed easier, digestion was very much improved, and overall I did feel more balanced. I've kind of let myself fall away from that sort of diet, mainly due to the financial toll it was beginning to have, since it seems many healthy foods are much more expensive than alternatives. I'm planning on returning to a gluten free, or even mostly gluten free, diet soon, though, as I'm hoping it will help my depression a little.
If you're going to try a gluten free diet, my recommendation is to really stick to it for at least three solid weeks before you decide to end or continue it (excepting of course other circumstances that might play a role in your diet). |
